Congrats Matt And Teresa Widboom

Matt and Teresa Widboom of Worthington were named runners-up in the Excellence in Agriculture competition Monday, during the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas.

Dan and Cara June Strasser of Tennessee won the award. They received a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck and free registration to the YF&R Leadership Conference.

The Widbooms were among three runners-up in the Excellence in Agriculture competition. Other couples included Curt and Carrie Divine of Kentucky and Jeff and Alyssa Vander Werff of Michigan. Each received a $6,000 U.S. Savings Bond and a Farm Boss chain saw, courtesy of STIHL.

The Excellence in Agriculture award recognizes young farmers and ranchers who do not derive the majority of their income from an agricultural operation, but who actively contribute and grow through their involvement in agriculture, their leadership ability, and participation in Farm Bureau and other organizations.

Matt and Teresa are active in the Nobles County Farm Bureau.
